When thinking about what two states in the United States have in common, many people are stumped. These locations often seem like polar opposites, with little to no middle ground. The people likely speak, and maybe even look entirely distinctly from one another. The culture in one locale may emphasize environmentalism, while the other industrialism. One state might be located on the Atlantic Ocean, and the other the Pacific, or, one might be located on the Pacific and the other landlocked as is the case with Washington and West Virginia. However, one thing most people don’t realize, or take the time to consider, is that nearly all US states have one very important thing in common, and that is space. In an enormous country with a growing population, there are still many areas in between all those little dots on the map. There are infinite numbers of small towns that nobody has ever heard of. No matter where a person is from, if it’s small town America he or she likely has a lot more in common with any other small town American than one might think. In a world full of global brands and marketing it is likely these people watch the same television programs, eat the same foods, enjoy the same books and movies, and purchase the same magazines. These people might even drive the same car, have the same political views, or even have similar daily experiences like a long commute from Newport WA to Seattle, or West VA to Washington DC. Part of the reason these long commutes exist is because information technology like broadband internet isn’t available everywhere yet, however, today that is all changing. The good news for those living in places like Newport WA and West VA is that the exact same internet service and provider is coming to save the day. How can an internet service extend across the entire country? Easy. It’s all being done with satellite internet. With satellite internet broadband, users anywhere in the country can easily be hooked up to fast reliable internet service, no matter where they live. Areas previously off the terrestrial broadband grid due to a rural or remote location can finally simply point a satellite dish toward the sky and access the same broadband internet that has helped corporations, international businesses, students and individuals grow and prosper.
The key to future success, at least today, is the access a person has to information technology. It is more important than ever that each child, each business and each individual be able to access high speed broadband internet while at work and at home in order to keep up with a rapidly changing world. Now, from the United States to the middle of the ocean more and more people are discovering the amazing capabilities of satellite broadband. Once the wires are taken away from the internet, it becomes far more user friendly and widely available than ever before. Someday, our children’s children will laugh at how people strung together broadband networks with cables extending all the way across the ocean. That someday, for rural America, can be as soon as tomorrow with satellite internet.
